This is Helen’s gift for her daughter-in-law. The story is: her daughter-in-law requested a Cowichan-style sweater, and Helen’s son said “Oh, Mum will knit it for you.” So, her daughter-in-law sent Helen a picture of hummingbird on a sweater. Roisin graphed it out from the hazy internet picture, and Helen and a friend adapted it for the sweater so that it looks like the hummingbird is in flight.
Turned out beautifully, don’t you think? The big decisions yesterday were: collar? black? grey? or?
So far, we’ve collectively decided on a pick-up-the-stitches around the neck and knit it on, kl, pl. We’ll see how that turns out. Helen still hasn’t decided on zipper vs. buttons. Stay tuned.
