We’re calling this ‘Mobeius Alley’ at GBOW!  These are Roisin’s creations, based on Australian designer Jude Skeer’s Moebius Shawl design.  It is a very intricate piece of work*, knitting in a figure 8 on circular needles and working from the centre out.  Jude has been guiding Roisin through his mathematically-centric design since April 2012.  No written pattern – but a truly magical journey.  Roisin is giving Moebius design classes (but NOT these shawls) for those interested in beginning the magical experience.

*Roisin’s partner, Phil, claims that for six months when he asks Roisin a question, she responds with numbers, because she is always counting, counting, counting stitches. Perhaps something like this:
P: So, what did you think of that editorial in the paper? R: Twenty-six, twenty-seven, twenty-eight…

P: I am making tea. Would you like some? R: ninety-nine, hundred, hundred and one…

P: I am going on a 6 week canoe trip. Okay with that? R: five hundred and two, five hundred and three…
