Our History

Great Balls of Wool opened for business on Nov 1, 2010 in one small room of a heritage house/store previously known as Madame Loukes’s on Marine Ave, the main street in Powell River, B.C.

In April, 2019 we moved next door to our present location, a large street accessible storefront with big display windows and our wonderfully eclectic selection of yarns, wool and fibers. 4722 Marine Ave.

Owner Roisin Sheehy-Culhane, along with staff team members, Belinda Fogarty, Falyn Fogarty, and Melissa Sorensen  provide  knowledgeable, skilled resources to the community-at- large.

Locals and visitors alike come here for inspiration, creative products knit from our own original designs and our favourite artist, designer, Australian Jude Skeers.
