Conversation yesterday in lane with friend who knit one shawl pattern many times. I commented on how her knitting skills had progressed since the first time she knit that pattern.
I shared with her that if I find a pattern I like, I will knit it several times. Once I’ve got the technical knitting details down I feel free to experiment with colours and yarns.
Different knitters follow different knitting paths. For me, experimenting is the fun part, I don’t care at all about tension and see knitting as a skill and art form rather than a craft.
