Did you all have a nice weekend? The weather was certainly better than forecast…at least for anyone not hoping for a good brisk wind. This is a photo of some of the boats from the Powell River Yacht Club and the Comox Bay Sailing Club starting the annual Algerine Race on Sunday…and yes, there was hardly any wind. Not good for racing at all. It might be the first time in 30+ years that the race was not completed.

Anyway, it was a great weekend for gardening, hiking, puttering…and knitting! Here’s photos of some ongoing projects.
Katrina’s next project is a Jude Skeers design circular shawl, using one strand of silk (some of shipment Roisin brought home from Australia) and one strand of her own hand-dyed yarn – very matchy matchy. It’s going to be gooorrrgeous.

Katrina has also been building a vest for a local person with her handspun yarn. Roisin has been guiding her through the design and knit process. This creation will be seen around town on a male human this fall or even cool summer evenings. See if you spot it!
Roisin’s son Bob in Australia has a birthday coming up, June 5th. He’s getting a few hats (because it’s winter there!)–this one is a work-in-progress, and will have a knit ribbing on the bottom. Roisin will perfect (possibly) the pattern for the next one and have it available. Not perfect YET!
