Road/ferry trip!

And from the website, here are the reasons the City of Campbell River decided to hold a fibre fest.
“It’s a wonderful way to get together – learn new skills, share a passion for creating, to get inspired and buy new products.

All profits to the Campbell River Community Centre from the Fibre Fest will be donated to the Specialized Recreation Programs.

The City of Campbell River Recreation & Culture Department believes that everyone has the right to participate in meaningful recreation and we strive to make all our programs inclusive.  We believe in Recreation for all Ages, Stages and Abilities! We do offer some specialized recreation programs for persons with disabilities some of these programs are programs that encourage life skill learning such as Sewing for Fun and Cooking Basics, the students from these two programs will be at the Fibre Fest showing some of the garments and articles that they have made over the years and others will be in the Fibre Café preparing and serving an incredible selection of yummy food to all of you!  We also offer programs that are just plain fun such as an after school sports activity,  dances and an evening drop in where they might do a craft, play bingo, watch a movie or play some games.

The majority of the people who attend these programs are living on a fixed disability pension and there is very little money left for extras. That is why we fundraise, to help make these programs affordable for all.  Your donations at the Fibre Fest will go a long way to providing some valuable recreation time for many people and we thank you so very much!”
